Detailed Description
Eyes on the Sky is a limited edition Giclée print by Kirsty Nixon, offering a striking yet tranquil celebration of Aotearoa’s native birdlife and summer flora. A solitary Tūī—vibrant, alert, and poised—perches atop a blooming red Harakeke (Flax), its head tilted skyward in a gesture of quiet observation. The rich crimson of the flax flowers glows against a backdrop of sweeping Nīkau fronds and golden ToeToe plumes, while a wash of soft powder-blue sky opens above, evoking the light, space, and rhythm of a New Zealand summer.
The Tūī, native to Aotearoa, is renowned for its bold personality and iridescent plumage—feathers that shimmer from green to blue, with a distinctive white tuft nestled beneath the throat. Their complex, melodic song often fills the air before the bird is seen, weaving a lyrical soundtrack through the bush. In Māori tradition, Tūī are considered symbolic messengers, their presence associated with spiritual harmony, confidence, and a deep sense of life’s fulfillment.
Part of Kirsty Nixon’s Flora & Fauna collection, Eyes on the Sky invites a sense of openness and wonder into the home. With its rich native botanicals and vivid seasonal palette, this artwork brings the clarity and warmth of summer indoors—perfect for interiors that seek connection, light, and an elevated expression of Aotearoa’s natural beauty.

Cleaning
Do not clean your Giclée Print with water, damp cloths or solvents. Use a soft, clean and dry lint-free cloth to gently wipe away dust or dirt. Ensure that the lint-free cloth is white or light in colour as darkly coloured cloths increase the risk of staining your artwork.
Shipping and Storage
Place a layer of acid-free tissue paper on either side of your Giclée Print, gently roll your print and place within a plastic sleeve, then slide into a storage tube. Please roll your limited edition print tight enough so that it does not sag when stored horizontally for an extended period of time.
The environment for storing your artwork should be controlled, with low levels of exposure to humidity and fluctuating temperatures.
If you're intending to store your Giclée Print for an extensive period of time, please store the artwork standing up. Do not cover the artwork in plastic as there is risk of potential mold growth, rather place the rolled print within a cotton sleeve, then gently slide into a storage tube.
