Detailed Description
Greenscene No.3 is an outdoor artwork by Kirsty Nixon that captures the bright, untamed spirit of a New Zealand summer. A solitary Tūī perches momentarily among the flowing forms of Tī Kōuka (Cabbage Tree), Nīkau Palm, and soft golden Toetoe—iconic markers of Aotearoa’s coastal and bush landscapes. Its wings, slightly raised, suggest a moment between stillness and flight, as if caught mid-breath beneath the warmth of dusty blue skies filtering through the canopy.
With its striking iridescent plumage and melodic presence, the Tūī is a bold and beloved figure in the New Zealand wild. In Māori mythology, the bird is seen as a sacred messenger, symbolising life fulfilment, confidence, and spiritual harmony.
Part of Kirsty’s Flora & Fauna collection, Greenscene No.3 is expertly reproduced on premium aluminium substrate using high-quality outdoor vinyl with a durable high-gloss laminate finish. Its weatherproof finish ensures lasting vibrancy, making it ideal for patios, gardens, or any open-air living space.
This piece invites the viewer into a moment of movement and stillness—an homage to the beauty and rhythm of nature, ever alive in the landscapes of Aotearoa.
